What’s on? Youth sport in Sutton Coldfield

The Andy Biddle Youth Sports Foundation is dedicated to promoting amateur sports in Sutton Coldfield and surrounding areas. As well as providing grants to sports clubs, coaches, and individuals, here we will be identifying sports clubs in Sutton Coldfield that you can reach out to if you are looking to engage in youth sport.

 

The charity was formed in honour of Andy Biddle, who was a Sutton Coldfield sporting legend, achieving the name ‘Mr Sutton Coldfield’. His main sports were football and cricket, playing at Sutton Coldfield Town FC and Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club, so lets start there...


Sutton Coldfield Town Juniors FC

This club, dear to Andy is a thriving football club in Sutton Coldfield. They offer football from the under 9’s age group to the under 18’s age group and are always on the look out for new players.

Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club

Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club Junior section

Based in Rectory park, SCCC has an active junior section, which is open to young people from under 10’s to under 17’s. The club hosts both winter and summer nets throughout the year and is welcoming to new players.

Four Oaks Saints Cricket Club Junior Section

Another cricket club in Sutton Coldfield is Four Oaks Saints, who have a variety of youth cricket teams for both girls and boys from under 9's up to under 14's.

Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club Juniors

Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club have a range of junior teams, starting at under 8’s through to under 18’s. The club also has a Badgers team, where juniors can play alongside their parents and other adults. New juniors get three trial sessions to see whether Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club is right for them.

Sutton Town Netball Club

This netball club is a grass roots sports club with a range of abilities and ages. They have performance squads at every age group but are open to anyone joining the club.

Little Sutton Netball Club

This local netball club also has a junior section, which includes those in reception up to year 6 and has an intermediate section of the club, which is for those year 7 and above.

Boldmere St Michaels Football Club Juniors

The Mikes is a football club, which covers all ages. It’s youth sector ranges from under 7’s to under 18’s, and can be found on their webpage: Boldmere St Michaels FC Football and Social Club with a Function Room.

 

Sutton Coldfield Archery Club Juniors

The Sutton Coldfield Archery club was formed in 1966. The club has many junior members, some of whom shot at the National Championship and are county champions. As well, the club runs six major beginners courses each year. The next courses will start in May 2024.

Boldmere Swimming and Water polo club

Boldmere Swimming club has the Learn to swim programme, involving lessons for children aged 5+. To apply for a free trial, enquire here: New members enquiry information (google.com).

The water polo club also generously offers free water polo taster sessions (first three for free).
